Amy Schumer is tipped to play the real-life version of Barbie in an upcoming film.
Funny girl Amy Schumer seems to be going from strength to strength after it was revealed she's currently in talks to be the star of the next Barbie movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Schumer will star as Barbie in their newest live-action movie which is slated for release in 2018.

Deadline reported back in April, 2014 that Sony Pictures and Mattel had made a deal to create a new global franchise - a live action comedy built on the world's top selling doll.

The comedian, while an unconventional choice, will serve as the perfect actress to bring Barbie into the 21st century with Schumer's more realistic and attainable image.
The toy has come under fire recently as thousands of little girls attempt to be like the thin, blonde doll and use her as a role model.
Sony enlisted the talents of a number of scriptwriters last year to create a screenplay however it is believed Schumer will now rewrite the script with her sister Kim Caramele.

The movie will be a mix of fantasy and live-action with The Hollywood Reporter revealing the Barbie flick will take inspiration from classics like Big and Disney's Enchanted.
The Barbie film series is already hugely popular with the first animated flick hitting cinemas way back in 1987.
The first Barbie doll from Mattel was released in 1959 and 50 years on, the toy company now makes more than $3 billion a year.
