This series, a group of bakers have been put to the test as they strive to win the Bake Off crown for the 11th series of the Channel 4 baking show.
But as it gets closer to the GBBO final, the applications for series 12 have now opened. Here’s how fans can apply for Bake Off 2021!

Requirements to apply for Bake Off 2021
There are a few requirements to become part of the Bake Off cast. One of them is age, as contestants need to be 16 years (or over) on 1 January 2021.
You must be a resident of the UK (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands) and be available for all filming days, which is anticipated to happen between April and August 2021.
You must not work (nor have recently worked) for or have any business or financial connection with Love Productions or Channel 4, and must not be a close relative or close friend of an employee working for these companies.
Applicants can’t have any NVQ, BTEC and/or any equivalent professional qualification in baking, cooking, food production, food preparation or catering, unless acquired over 10 years ago.
They also can’t apply if they have ever been employed as a baker, cook or chef, while their main source of income must not come from commercial baking or cooking in a professional environment – these include a restaurant, hotel, canteen, bakery, shop.
And obviously, you need a passion for baking!

Step 1: Visit The Great British Bake Off application website.
Step 2: Select the ‘Apply online now‘ option. Alternatively, you can email [email protected] or call 0207 067 4837 stating your full name, full address (including postcode) and telephone number.
Step 3: For those applying online, fill out the form with your personal and contact details.
Step 4: Click on ‘Start your application’ to begin applying. This will involve adding at least 5 photos of bread, two types of pastry, cake and biscuits that you have made.
Applications close at 11.59pm on Sunday December 6th 2020.
When is Bake Off series 12?
Filming is expected to place between April and August 2021.
While Bake Off 2021’s air date has not yet been announced, it is likely that it will be shown on our screens towards the end of August, or afterwards.
The 2019 series aired on August 27, and August 28 the previous year. This year’s Bake Off aired later than past years, on September 22.
