- Georg Moritz Hagen Listing was born in Germany in a place called Halle, Saxony-Anhalt.

- Listing’s love for music spawned at a young age. He taught himself how to play bass at the tender age of 11.
- He met drummer and fellow bandmate Gustav Schafer when both were still in music school. Listing and Schafer joined forces with twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz to form a band called Magdeburg in 2001.
- The band was later renamed ‘Devilish,’ and the quartet went on to perform in Germany during the period of 2002 and 2003.
- The early years of Listing’s career were not that spectacular as the band struggled to draw in fans’ attention.
- It wasn’t until 2005 that their manager, David Jost, landed them a recording contract with Interscope Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. By this time, the band was now known as ‘Tokio Hotel’.
- They released their debut album in 2005,, an LP titled ‘Schrei.’ Georg’s career took off along with the band as their debut single ‘Durch den Monsun’ peaked at number 1 on German music charts.
- ‘Tokio Hotel’ shortly launched a nationwide tour in addition to creating their very first live DVD.
- The band released another album in 2007 titled ‘Zimmer 483’, and by then, they were a force to be reckoned within Germany. In support of their second album, they embarked on a regional European tour and recorded yet another DVD.
- A year later, the band released another album titled ‘Scream’ and Georg really settled in as a bass player, keyboard artist, and pianist. Tokio Hotel expanded their fan base throughout Europe and was even able to reach new fans in other parts of the globe, including the USA and Australia.
- Immediately after releasing their third album, they toured the USA and Canada for the first time. They returned to Europe in March for a regional tour but had to slow things down after singer, Bill Kaulitz, developed a cyst on his vocal cords as a result of a lingering throat infection.
- After Bill’s recovery, the group released their 4th album in 2009 titled ‘Humanoid’ and their 5th one, ‘Kings of Suburbia’ in 2015, carrying on with their global success.
